Small business confidence index dropped in June, although it is still above the low levels seen between 2011 and 2013.

More companies are planning to hire. Both NFIB hiring plan index and JOLTS job opening are on the rise.

FOMC June meeting minutes showed an agreement among the members on ending QE3 by the end of this year (announcement in October), but a split over whether the inflation is still too low.

The FOMC also discussed the method of raising interest rate, with increasing the rate paid on excess reserve playing a central role, while Fed Target Fund Rate and Repo operation playing a supportive role.

Globally, last week’s weak economic numbers weaken the prospects for worldwide economic growth, with UK and Germany reporting dismal industrial production numbers.
